I wanna live, I wanna give...
On this day in 1972 (2/12), Neil Young's "Heart of Gold" broke into the top 40. This song would go on to #1. It only lasted 1 week at the top, knocking off Nilsson's version of "Without You", then getting bumped by America's "Horse with No Name". Not a bad trio of hits.
