John Denver's ode to West Virginia, "Take Me Home, Country Roads" made it's Top 40 debut today (6/26) in 1971. This was just seven months after the family had moved to Pittsburgh, from WV... this song has always struck home for me. It was a big hit with everyone else, too, reaching #2.
