On this date (9/27) back in 1975, the Eagles broke the Top 40 with "Lyin' Eyes", the not-exactly-cheerful little ditty about a cheating wife. This one must have been a disapointment to the band, as it stalled at #2. One more notch and it would've been their 3rd straight #1.
