Couldn't Stop Moving When It First Took Hold......
3/2/1974, Rick Derringer's "Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo" hit the charts. This was his only hit as a solo artist (after Hang On Sloopy with the McCoys), but the All American Boy was a force in mid-70s rock, including associations with Edger and Johnny Winter, Alice Cooper, Richie Havens, Todd Rundgren, Steely Dan, and more . Derringer is one of my favorite underrated guitarists, a real guilty pleasure.
