Steve Gaines.....

Today (9/14) is the brithday of Steve Gaines, guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd. He would've been 56 today, 'cept for the plane wreck in '77. Steve replaced original #3 guitarist Ed King shortly before Skynyrd recorded their classic Live Album: "One More For The Road". He was a complete unknown, and only got a chance to audition because his sister was a backup singer with the band. His contribution to the last "original" Skynyrd album (Street Survivors) is impressive, in writing, singing and playing.
