You Drink Champagne and it Tastes Just Like Coca-Cola....
One of the great songs of the 70's made it's Top 40 debut today (9/12) back in 1970, when The Kink's "Lola" hit the charts. Not to be confused with Barry Manilow's Lola (who was a showgirl)... this one made it to #9, complete with it's "syntacticly ambiguous" lyrics as to Lola's true gender.... Pretty heady stuff for 1970, from one of the first "Concept Albums" of the decade, "Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One", which is about the Kink's navigation through the music industry....

As enjoable as Ray's 'Storyteller" show was, seeing Dave and his "drunken Kinks Sing-A-Long" show at Rosebud was even better!
