The South Will Rise Again??
On this date (1/18) back in 1980, Capricorn Records files for bankruptcy. Capricorn was the home of many of the Southern Rock stable, including Allman Brothers Band, Charlie Daniels Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Wet Willie & Elvin Bishop. IIRC, Lynyrd Skynyrd passed on an opportunity to sign with Capricorn, fearing they would be inthe shadows of the Allmans.... Meanwhile, the reconstitiuted Skynyrd's 1994 "unplugged" album Engandered Species would be released on a reconstituted version of Capricorn. That's a really good album, by the way. Check out my review on the Amazon listing......
