The Sincerest Form of Flattery??
One of those funny little things: “I Won’t Tell You No Lies” by Roy Buchanan has the same distinctive melodic “hook” as Atlanta Rhythm Section’s mega hit “So Into You”. RB’s song is from his second album, released in 1973, 4 years ahead of ARS’s A Rock And Roll Alternative.... Now, I don't think it's a big deal, no great crime or anything. But I can't hear either song without thinking of the other....

I saw ARS as the opening act for Foghat in Monroe, LA in 1976. I didn't care much for them until I saw them live.
I saw them several times (always as warm up), and they were really good... except once, but that's another story.
They're one of those bands that's a lot different live than on album, though. They can be almost TOO smooth and polished on their recordings.
But I like the a lot (one of the really great bass players), and have most of their early albums.
