My photography is less about events than about what remains when they pass. I’m interested in restraint, attention, and the subtle ways everyday environments hold memory without asking for interpretation.

Continuing to copy from John over at My Viewfinder, who posted today about graffiti. Here’s some related images from my archives:

Now that I'm looking for it, I see more amazing graffiti all over. It looks like you found some in a country setting.
"Atac-Bad" was taken in the early 80's (on film) just a bit north of Washington DC (Wheaton, MD).
"I heart Jess" is Glen Carbon, IL, the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.
"Jess Loves Becky" is Cloverdale, IN, just a mile or so off I-70.
"Ted's New House" is along I-70, in the 20 miles where it passes through WV... I did get of the interstate and work back along the frontage road.
"Trust" and "No War" are Troy. Illinois, the Illinois suburbs of St. Louis. Along a rails-to-trail path.
"I never asked" is Edwardsville Illinois, also outside St. Louis. Along an active rail line on the north side of town....
