From a midday vist to Columbia Bottom Conservation Area:
This is NOT a Monarch Butterfly. My "Seek" phone ap identified it as a Viceroy, and some internet sleuthing confirmed it. A subtle difference to somebody like me (aka ignorant), but pretty clear when drawn out. See HERE.
Also seen at the same time, this Common Buckeye
