Yellow Crowned Night Heron
During our recent trip to New Orleans, we took a drive to Venice, LA, which is (reportedly) the Southernmost Point in Louisiana. They even have a sign where the road runs out. This Heron was hanging out where the road ended, and was polite enough to pose for a couple of photos. This is a new entry in my gallery of birds I've photographed!
