I Thought The Major Was A Real Lady

Entering the Top 40 today (2/23) in 1974: Paul McCartney with “Jet”. I always liked this song, but could never figure out what the heck it meant. Apparently, it’s actually about his Lab puppy…. Which doesn’t make it any clearer. Which doesn’t make it any clearer. “And Jet, I thought the only lonely place was on the moon”?

Hey, just focus on the songs from 1973!! try to remember the lyrics to Uneasy Rider, that should help!

"I was takin' a trip out to LA, toolin' along in my Chevrolet....."

Speaking of "what the heck does that mean" how about America's "Ventura Highway"...Alligator lizards in the air?? Or did I mishear that??

Well, that's the way I've always hears it. And a quick google shows that there really is an "alligator lizard"....(http://www.anapsid.org/gerrhont.html)
But it doesn't say anything about flying... perhaps they were flung?

Now you're makin' my head hurt. I'm going to have to focus on something completely different, and not so complicated:

"North side , east side
Little Willy, Willy wears the crown, he's the king around town
Dancing, glancing
Willy drives them silly with his star-shine shimmy, shuffle down
Way past one, and feeling alright
'Cause with little Willy 'round they can last all night....."
