Happy Kasmir Pulaski Day!!!

Yep, today is a Holiday in our school district to celebrate Kasmir Pulaski. I'm not positive, but I believe KP was a Polish immigrant who fought in the revolutionary war. It seems to be an Illinois only holiday, just another excuse for the schools to be off.

Pulaski is a little-known, but important, hero of the Revolution. He did for the US Cavalry what Von Stueben did for the infantry. More here:

Thanks for the link, Frothy! I couldn't find anything "googling" him, it appears I was mis-spelling his given name. That's a good summary. I beth 98% of the kids around here couldn't tell you anything more about him than he's the reason fo a day off!
