This is actually not on the interstate, but where the off ramp from I-64 eastbound dumps onto Illinois Route 159, not far from my office.

R.I.P.
I’m often struck by the memorial crosses you see along the highways of our country… Some simple, some intricate. Some well maintained, some obviously neglected. I wonder about the stories behind the losses…

There is one on the way to Fairbanks that we pass and it will catch my eye every time. There is a small love seat there with stuffed animals. I have never stopped to see if anything is written as it is at the top of a small hill. Your photo made me immediately think of that one we pass on our monthly trips to town.
