Yep, the first Monday in March. I know everybody's been eagerly awaiting the day we celebrate the "Father of American Calvary"... no? I've had at least 1 kid in Illinois public schools for the past 19 Mays, and I've never quite gotten the whole Casimir Pulaski day. The cynical part of me thinks it's just another in a long string of excuses for a day off school. But I'm not being fair, a quick check of the school calendar shows they only have 25 holidays over 9 months, way less than 1/wk. I'm not bitter. Just jealous.
And to prove it, here's a pretty picture from my (high) school days: Sunset from my bedroom window (back in the late 70's)
