One of the great burdens of my life is that I have to take images as I find them. I almost never have a chance to wait for the pwerfect light... the bright blue skies with puffy white clouds.... This was juist a bit before the rain started...
All images copyright L.P.Lawhead unless otherwise noted. My photography is less about events than about what remains when they pass. I’m interested in restraint, attention, and the subtle ways everyday environments hold memory without asking for interpretation.

Take It As It Comes
Driving home from Chicago yesterday, I found a interesting spot. This is Miliken Lake, in the DesPlaines Stae Fish & Wildlife area. Just off the Kanakee River. Only a 2-3 of miles from the area I explored on my last Chicago Trip, but on the other side of I-55.
One of the great burdens of my life is that I have to take images as I find them. I almost never have a chance to wait for the pwerfect light... the bright blue skies with puffy white clouds.... This was juist a bit before the rain started...
