Ice Storm

I planted this pine tree in 1989, when we moved to Illinois. It took quite a beating in last night's ice storm. This is the middle tree of a line of 5. I haven't mustered the energy to go out and check the others, it's just too depressing.

Great shot but I hate to see the mighty trees damaged like that.

I heard on the news that Il. was hit the hardest by the ice storm and that a lot of the state is without power. Thought of you when I heard that. Hope you thaw out soon.

Thanks all for the good wishes. I've been out of town all week... Tonight's news says the number of homes/businesses w/o power is down to a few thousand, from a peak of 450,000 or so... Of course, it's 12 degrees right now, sure glad we have power! I'm going to have to start some cleanup of brances this weekend....
