Hot, Hot, Hot

No, not the song by Buster Poindexeter (aka David Johansen), but the weather. We had 100+ heat indexes yesterday, just in tome for a mid-afternoon, little league double header! Making up a few of the rainouts from the past few weeks. Nothing like being out in the sun from 1 - 4:30 on the hottest day of the year. At least we (the parents) didn't have to run around as much as the kids!! As assitant coach I tried to keep the kids as hydrated as possible, passing out ice cubes between innings and reminding the constantly to drink water.

But the kids hung tough, played well, and nobody got heat stroke. They even seemed to have fun, though they were all slowing down noticably toward the end.

They play again tonight at 6pm, their 4th game just over 48 hours. This is the closest I could find to a "HOT" photo, something from a couple of years ago. Too bad we didn't have a fountain like that at the ballpark!

Wanna break from the heat, come on up! Been cool here in AK lately but a bit of rain. Highs have been in the mid to upper 60's at best.

The older I get, the less I like summer. Let's go to Phil's place to enjoy summer in Alaska - I think I can get those three days off!
