Jetstar!

I’ve been a Monkees fan for a long, long time. Yep, it’s true. I even saw them in concert in 1968 in Charleston, WV (sadly, after Peter Tork had left the band). I also saw thge Peter Tork Project in DC during the early 80's... Anyway, the Monkees were great music, and great fun. Lately, I’ve been watching the old TV show on DVD (thanks Netflix!), and disc 1of season 2 has some great segments with Peter Tork’s Guild Jetstar bass. I have a Jetstar, bought at Pittsburgh Guitars back in 1979 or so, back when The Reallys were in full swing. Of course, mine doesn’t look nearly as nice as this one, beyond 40 years of wear. It had been partially refinished when I got it, and I repainted it several times through the years. But I still love it. I recently discovered a crack in the peghead, gotta figure out a way to get the fixed!

I grew up with the Monkeys too. Great, fun music. Couldn't seem to master the guitar but love that sound. Good memory shots.
