40 Years Ago This Week

Early March 1971, what were we listening to?

12 Songs debuted on the Billboard Hot-100 on 3/6/1971, only 4 of which would break the coveted Top-40.  Do you remember:
  • Another Day - Paul McCartney (peaked at #5)
  • Stay Awhile - Bells (#7)
  • Chick-A-Boom - Daddy Dewdrop (#9)
  • Woodstock - Ian Matthews (#23)
And again, I only know 2.....  Can you guess which ones?  And the 8 that didn't make the Top 40?  I only remember 1 of them, Steppenwolf:
  • Pushbike Song - Mixtures (#44)
  • When There's No You - Englebert Humperdink (#45)
  • Tongue In Cheek - Sugarloaf (#55)
  • Snow Blind Friend - Steppenwolf (#60)
  • If It's Real What I Feel - Brenda Lee Eager (#69)
  • I Pity The Fool - Ann Peebles (#85)
  • Spinning Wheel - James Brown (#90)
  • What About Me - Quicksilver Messinger Service (#100)
Not exactly an earth-shaking collection.
